The Virtual University of the Third Age (VU3V) is one of the forms of lifelong education organized by the Faculty of Operational Economics of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.
The goal is to enable all students within the Czech Republic to study at the U3V university of their interest, regardless of the distance from the headquarters of colleges and universities in which full-time senior education takes place, which they cannot participate in for various reasons (distance, health and time reasons, financial demands for transportation, etc.). In accordance with education, also create an environment for social contact of listeners in the given locations.
The interested party registers in the consultation center that is available to him. A list of all consultation centers in individual regions is available on the e-senior.cz website. The listener attends joint video lectures in the given consultation center. The lecturer is not present, everything takes place online via video.
Who can study?
– the course is intended only for seniors receiving an old-age pension
How does joint teaching work?
– the study is divided into a winter semester (October – December) and a summer semester (February – April)
– for each semester, students in a given consultation center choose a topic together from the list of courses offered
– classes take place in the consultation center once every 14 days
– each course contains 6 teaching video lectures
– the teaching materials are accessible to students at any time during the semester via the Internet using their personal logins
– after each lecture, the student completes a test, at the end of the semester he completes a final test
Obligations of listeners
– paying the study fee in the consultation center
– min. 80% participation in joint teaching
– preparation of a test for each of the video lectures and the final test
Final seminars and graduation
At the end of each semester, a ceremony awaits the successful students Final seminar. After fulfilling the study obligations and completing 6 individual courses, the participant is invited to the graduation ceremony in the ČZU auditorium.
